Public Dental (Oral Health) Services
The Oral Health Services offers the following:
- General dental care (waiting lists apply);
- Emergency dental care;
- Denture services (waiting lists apply).
- Private Dental (No waitlists)
General dental care, including fillings, dentures and preventative care is available.
Emergency appointments are available. The emergency triage system is a series comprised of clinical questions to assess the urgency of the problem so that an appropriate appointment can be given.

Especially for children
WCHS provides dental services for children tailored to meet the different needs and expectations of you and your child.
Our dental professionals strive to give children a positive and happy dental experience. We can support you in preparing your child for their first visit, please click here for the information brochure (Dental Service First Visit) that may assist you. At their first visit your child will:
- be asked to put on sunglasses to protect their eyes from the bright light
- be given a ride in the dental chair
- have their teeth counted
- be rewarded with a sticker for good behaviour; and
- If there is time, some treatment may be completed
Please feel free to discuss any concerns you may have about your child’s treatment with the dental professional before they begin the treatment.
Can you use this service?
Dental Services are available to everyone.
Public Dental services are available for adults if you have a:
- Health care card; or
- Pension card.
Dental services are available and free of charge to all children and young people under 18 years of age who have a:
- Health care card; or
- Pension card.
For those without the above concession cards, Dental services are available for all children from 18 months to 13 years of age with a one-off cost applied for a complete course of care.
If you are in the one of the above groups Priority access to our Dental (Oral Health) Service is available if you:
- are pregnant
- are of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent
- are aged over 80 years
- are a newly arrived refugee or asylum seeker
- are homeless
- have a mental health condition
