Tai Chi

A gentle exercise program for people with long-term health conditions. This program has been specifically developed by Dr. Paul Lam. It is a sequence of gentle movements, combined with breathing exercise. The program is recommended by the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria.

Benefit of Tai Chi:

  • Improve mobility and flexibility
  • Promote relaxation
  • Promote feeling of wellbeing
  • Reduce joint stiffness and pain
  • Improve your balance and co-ordination.

Two sessions per clients are offered. When you have completed the 2nd term have been completed, WCHS encourages client to move on to a community group. List of community groups in the Whitehorse council area which run Tai chi Program will be provided at the end of 2nd term.

Tai Chi program runs over school terms.

Can you use this service?

To join the tai chi group you must first be assessed by a physiotherapist.  Physiotherapy Services are available to people who work, live or study in the City of Whitehorse and we prioritise our services for people on low-medium incomes and holders of Health Care or Pension cards.

After your assessment bookings need to be made.
