Whitehorse Good Life Club
Research shows that living with a long term health condition can be stressful and often requires many lifestyle changes. The good news is that setting goals and using strategies to deal with long term problems can help you to manage your health better.
The Good Life Club is a self management program that aims to support people diagnosed with long term health conditions. Clients of the program will have access to information,support and resources to not only manage their chronic disease ,but improve and maintain their health and well being.
Options available through the Good Life Club include
- Health Coaching/Key worker
- Set and achieve goals to better manage their health condition
- Link up with services and group programs (eg. exercise programs, support groups and education programs) to assist in maintaining health and well-being.
- Allied Health services e.g. Dietetics,Physio,Podiatry,Counsellor
- Diabetes education [group program,individual,support program]
- Heart Health –exercises and education
- Good Life Gym
- Tai Chi
- Walking Group
- Good Life Choices[short talks about health matters]
- Hydrotherapy
All clients are provided with an initial assessment which includes comprehensive health and lifestyle screening. Depending on your needs the Health Coach or Key worker will then make referrals to other services and programs. Ongoing review and support is provided so that you are able to maintain your self management. Communication with your doctor and other health care providers is considered important part of the Good Life Club program.

The Better Health Course
A 'Better Health Course' is a very popular group course that runs over 6 weeks. It aims to assist people manage the emotional & physical affects of a long term health condition.
Health Coaching
Health Coaching is an individual service offered by health professionals to assist Whitehorse Good Life Club participants to achieve their goals. It comprises of health education and promotion, healthy living skill development, problem solving and encouragement for people wanting to improve their health and well being.
Exercise
The Good Life Gym operates on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Find out more about the program by clicking here.
Health and Lifestyle Education Program
Club members will also receive benefits such as a regular newsletter with health tips and information about activities of interest within the local community.
Can you use this servcie?
The Good Life Club is available to people who work, live or study in the City of Whitehorse and we prioritise our services for people on low-medium incomes and holders of Health Care or Pension cards.
To join the following you will first be seen by a community health nurse for a general health assessment.
What does it cost?
There is no cost for having Health coaching or Key worker.Fees apply to other services and groups.
