Physiotherapy
The Physiotherapy service helps those with physical (joint and muscle) disorders such as:
- Arthritis conditions;
- Post surgical or spinal problems;
- Mobility problems; and
- Centre/home visits
The department has a strong emphasis on self management, group programs including strength training, hydrotherapy, Tai Chi for arthritis, fit ball and falls prevention (see the groups page for more information).
Joint and muscle problems include attacks following acute episodes or a flair-up of an existing chronic condition, mobility issues, back and neck pain.
There are short term treatments for neurological conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, post-stroke and chronic pain such as:
- Centre/home visits;
- Generally 6-8 sessions of treatments (no long term) and
- A range of our other group programs

Physiotherapy Services are available to people who work, live or study in the City of Whitehorse and we prioritise our services for people on low-medium incomes and holders of Health Care or Pension cards.
To join the following you must first be assessed by a physiotherapist:
- hydrotherapy group
- OTAGO falls prevention program
